Life’s changing quickly? Be like the dragonfly.

Change is a beautiful thing, though it can sometimes be hard. By taking on the majestic dragonfly’s traits of being transformative and adaptable, we can walk into new beginnings in confidence.

Qualities of the Dragonfly

  • transformative
  • adaptable
  • embracing
  • transient
  • in the moment
  • bouncy
  • quick

Transformation is not a one-and-done process, it’s iterative. Sometimes transformations or changes happen again and again, until we’ve reached the final destination. Whether it’s your personal transformation, career, location, it doesn’t matter. All that matters for transforming is that you are open and ready to receive the changes that need to take place. It can be uncomfortable and scary if you feel like you are going into unknown territory. You may not know what the future holds or what it means to completely let go and move forward from all you’re accustomed to. One thing is for certain: you will never know until you try. At least you can say you did it.

The dragonfly teaches us that we are not meant to stay the same. We have full lives to live and they come with different phases. The dragonfly spends most of its life in water before it fully develops into the fast-flying beautiful insects we see along the water side and in our yards. If the dragonfly wasn’t willing to change, it wouldn’t make it out of the water.

The dragonfly also teaches us to take on new beginnings and be adaptable. Transformations and change can bring you into new environments, place you around new people, and have you walking, talking, and even looking different. Embrace your change by being open to the newness, it can be refreshing as long as you’re willing to let go of anything holding you back. Are you willing to let go of old habits and ways of thinking to step into your next phase? That’s what being adaptable is all about!

If you’re anything like me, you feel the need for change often. I encourage you to let go and flow with whatever you know to be true for yourself. Change can be beautiful and welcoming or scary and intimidating, it’s your choice. No matter what, you can’t lose as long as you’re going in a direction that’s true to you.

with love, light, and truth,

Taylor
